With the first six weeks of school behind them, roughly 50 percent of Brighton High School students were recognized for their accomplishments during academic awards assemblies Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
Assistant Principal Rebecca Bradford shared that
• 432 students had perfect attendance,
• 457 students had achieved at a 3.0 to 3.74 grade point average (GPA) for the first six weeks, the BHS Honor Roll,
• 257 students achieved at a 3.75 and higher GPA for the first six weeks, the Principal’s Honor Roll, and
• More than 125 students were recognized by their teachers for being either the top of their class or for making incredible achievements in the first six weeks of first semester.
In all, more than 1,270 certificates were handed out in four grade-level assemblies. Principal John Biner personally congratulated each of the students who received a certificate for the noted achievements.
The high school lobby is testament to student successes. “Students who received each of the honor roll certificates also receive a ‘Paw’ that is displayed in the BHS lobby,” Bradford said. A red paw indicates a 3.75 and higher GPA and a white paw indicates a 3.0 to 3.74 GPA.
