Washington, DC –Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) applauded the $617,774 that will come to the state of Colorado for housing counseling and training grants as announced by the US Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Out of these grants, $98,258 will come to Aurora and Commerce City in the 7th Congressional District.
“These programs will help stabilize our neighborhoods and keep people in their homes by providing important information about how to manage money, navigate the homebuying process and make educated decisions before purchasing a home,” said Perlmutter. “Some of our communities have been among the hardest hit in terms of foreclosures. I am encouraged to see these resources being devoted to the areas that need it the most. This will help our neighborhoods and thousands of families rebuild in the wake of the recent financial downturn.”
