Proposed Septic System Use Permit Hearing on April 5

Tri-County Health Department will hold a public hearing on a proposal to implement a use permit system for Individual Sewage Disposal Systems (ISDS) in Adams, Arapahoe and Douglas Counties . An ISDS is also commonly known as a septic system.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 5, starting at 4:30, in the Tri-County Health Department Administration building, 6162 S. Willow Drive , Greenwood Village , CO . The building is located two blocks southeast of I-25 and Orchard Road .

“We currently issue permits to construct, repair or expand an ISDS, and that permit expires once the construction is completed and approved. The new use permit would be issued upon completion and approval of the construction or repairs, and is intended to address ongoing use and maintenance of the system in order to improve the protection of public health and groundwater,” states Tom Butts, Director of Environmental Health at Tri-County Health Department.
