Renee began her career with the Social Services Department 22 years ago, and has evolved into the adoption recruiter/trainer for the Foster-to-Adopt Program. Her work with child-specific adoption matching services has resulted in successfully matching over 80 children with adoptive families over the past three years and more than 60 children in 2008.
"It is an honor to recognize Renee Teague as the 2008 Employee of the Year,” said Larry W. Pace, chairman of the Board of County Commissioners. “Her dedication and work ethic are instrumental in uniting Adams County children and families.”
As a part of the Foster-to-Adopt Program, Renee coordinates meetings between individual families and children and works with other units’ recruitment activities, including Adoption Exchange matching parties, the annual Adoption Party and National Adoption Day. Renee’s accomplishments in these roles have contributed to the program’s reputation as one of the best in the state.
In spite of the tremendous growth of the Foster-to-Adopt Program, she remains committed to responding to each family requesting information, and offering support or even a “kind ear.” At the same time, her focus on recruiting new families, facilitating family trainings and organizing the annual foster parent/ongoing caseworker luncheon is unwavering.
Renee is truly committed to the well-being of the children who enter the system. The families she works with regularly comment on what a positive experience it is to work with her. She goes “above and beyond” to find families for the children she serves and consistently works with the best interest of each child as her guiding principle. Renee is recognized as a valued and dedicated employee, an asset to her department and a credit to our community. It is a pleasure to acknowledge her as an outstanding Adams County employee for her hard work, dedication and commitment. Adams County is pleased to acknowledge Renee Teague as the 2008 Employee of the Year.
Adams County currently has approximately 1,800 employees who serve the county’s 450,000 residents. To become Employee of the Year, employees are nominated by their coworkers, and each month a committee selects one nominee for the Employee of the Month Award. It is from these 12 employees that the Employee of the Year is chosen.
