Commerce City Gymnasts Qualify For Regional Competition

COMMERCE CITY – The Commerce City Cougars girls’ gymnastics team has qualified nearly all of its members for the upcoming regional competition, July 10-11.

Of the 26-member team, 25 will compete at the regional meet, to be held at Thornton High School; 15 have qualified for the all-around competition and 10 will compete as event specialists.

The athletes earned their way to regional competition at a recent meet of the Colorado Association of Recreational Athletics (CARA) league, held at the Commerce City Recreation Center. The Cougars are organized and coached through the Commerce City Parks and Recreation Department.

Gymnasts and their placements at the June 13 meet in Commerce City:

McKenna Delay, 1st in all-around competition

Other athletes competing for Commerce City were Breann Rodlin, Eryn Manchego, Leslie Holliday, Karlie Wilson, Brittany Blackburn, Madelyn Schmidt, Emily Wilson, Sydney McCollum and Maranda Moreno.
