One Stop Information Source Specific for SeniorsLakewood, CO – Today, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter (CO-07) announced the unveiling of his Seniors’ Hotline phone number to help senior citizens access information about Social Security, Medicare, taxes, veterans benefits and other issues impacting them.
The dedicated phone number will allow Rep. Perlmutter’s office to answer questions from senior citizens in a timely manner about issues unique to them.
“I am proud to be able to offer this service to our seniors. So many of the issues we are tackling today impact seniors in a different way than others. I want them to have the answers they need in a timely way so they can access the benefits and services to which they are entitled,” stated Perlmutter.

“The past year and a half I was proud to support many initiatives to help our senior citizens including making sure the health insurance reform bill closes the Medicare Part D donut hole; authoring an amendment in the energy bill to limit energy performance labelling standards to new construction only, which ensures seniors property values are not adversely impacted; supporting the Elder Abuse Victims Act, which improves law enforcement’s ability to target and combat physical, emotional and financial abuse; helping pass the Recovery Act, which provided $250 payments to Social Security recipients; and supporting the Medicare Physicians Payment Reform Act, guaranteeing Medicare beneficiaries will continue to access care with the Doctor of their choice by changing the way physicians are paid under Medicare. These are just a few ways we are working to help seniors maximize their available benefits.” stated Perlmutter.
