Residents needed for task force, city boards

COMMERCE CITY – The City Council is looking for residents to serve on several boards and commissions.

Along with openings on the Liquor Authority and the Cultural Council, City Council has authorized the formation of the Rental Property Task Force. The purpose of the task force is to determine whether a rental certification program is appropriate for Commerce City.
Council is seeking four Commerce City residents and three landlords, resident or nonresident, to sit on the task force.

The Liquor Authority needs two residents to fill in as alternates; each term is three years. The Liquor Authority meets the first Tuesday afternoon of each month. The Liquor Authority’s roll is to review, grant, approve and renew liquor licenses and special event permits for Commerce City. The Liquor Authority is authorized to conduct investigations and suspend and revoke licenses for unlawful operations in the sale of alcohol.

The Cultural Council, advances charity and education for the preservation of art, music, theater and dance in Commerce City, has six openings, each being a three-year term. The Cultural Council meets on an as-needed basis.

Experience in these areas is not required, but welcomed.
