BRIGHTON — 31-year-old man Donald Jean Scarlett was arrested and is being held at the Adams County Detention Facility on suspicion of child abuse that resulted in the death of a toddler.Scarlett was arrested at his home on South 22nd Avenue on suspicion of child abuse resulting in bodily injury after a 2-year-old boy was taken to Platte Valley Medical Center. Reported a emergency 911 call was made from Scarlett's home at 12:48 p.m., Tuesday on a report of a medical emergency. The child was later transported from PVMC to Childrens Hospital in Aurora where he died Wednesday night.
