Adams 14 Board of Education Swears in Three New Members

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (November 23, 2011) – The Adams 14 Board of Education welcomed new school board members at their regular meeting on November 22. Board members Mary Morton, Larry Quintana and David J. Rolla took their seats with the Board after reciting the oath of office. Larry Quintana previously served a four-year term, while Mary Morton and David Rolla are newcomers on the Board.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, the Board realigned to appoint officers as follows:

President Robert Vashaw
Vice President Larry Quintana
Secretary Adrian Schimpf
Treasurer David Rolla
Director Mary Morton


The new Board of Education articulated excitement about increasing engagement within the Commerce City community to continue the success of Adams 14 and all District students.

Also at the meeting, Board members expressed gratitude for the dedicated service of outgoing Board President Jeannette Lewis and Secretary Bill Klocker.

The Adams 14 Board of Education believes that when the community, students and staff are involved, all students do learn and succeed. The Board’s goals are:

To ensure all students will be at or above grade level;
To continually review programs and policies to ensure students are prepared for the 21st Century;
To continue our commitment to sustainable fiscal management and accountability;
To recruit and maintain the best qualified and well-trained work force;
To embrace the community as partners in the success of our students.

The public is welcome at meetings of the Adams 14 Board of Education, which are held the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, except in July and December (only one meeting each during those months). Attendance allows citizens the chance to be directly involved in improving Adams 14 schools. Regular board meetings always allow time for citizens' comments.
