Commerce City, CO, (August 19, 2009) – Community Health Services (CHS) is proud to announce that they have been named the sole beneficiary of the Shea Homes Community Development/Shea Properties 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. This year, the tournament was held on Friday, August 14th at the gorgeous Black Bear Golf Club in Parker. 152 dedicated golfers turned out to support the important work of CHS. This year’s tournament raised $10,000 from sponsorships, registration fees and raffle ticket sales. (The check for $7,000 given at the event did not reflect the raffle ticket sales amount.) This year’s raffle prize was a Four-Day Carnival Cruise for two and two roundtrip tickets to any Southwest Airlines destination within the continental United States. The lucky winner was Mr. Chris Dittman, Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Westminster.
The tournament was started ten years ago by David Vasquez and Tim Mangnall of Shea Homes. Mr. Vasquez is now with Shea Properties. In those ten years, the tournament has raised $232,000 for CHS. This year’s event was also organized by Jean Geiger and Sherry Leitzman of Shea Homes. Ms. Geiger serves on the CHS Board of Directors and Mr. Vasquez is a member of the CHS Advisory Board. The staff and Board of Community Health Services are extremely grateful to receive the continued support of Shea Homes and Shea Properties and look forward to continuing this relationship in years to come.
